- Save images to a CD with the title of your image and as a jpg. e.g. zanzibar_squid_seller.jpg
- If your images are large and you don’t have an image resizer, e.g Photoshop, the competition secretary will downsize the image although they would rather not have to. No image adjustments will be undertaking other than resizing. WPS does take any responsibility for the possibility of compromising the quality of your images.
Images for the website
Club members only may submit work for showing on this website. Submit your images to our webmaster.
- Email your web ready image, 72 dpi and 500 pixels on the longest side to Virginia. Please note that Virginia will resent being emailed very large files, a 500KB email is much too large.
- Remember when resizing your image in Photoshop change the DPI first before changing the pixel size.
- Images with high contrast and fine detail will not compress as well and produce larger file sizes, so depending on the image something between 15 and 55KB is acceptable.
- Smaller file sizes are better, but no compression artefacts please (see the How To mentioned earlier).
- Images on a CD are okay – give them to Virginia she will resize and compress them.
- Slides and Negatives: If you don't have a scanner for these forms of media, some of our members have scanners.
